Weezer Little Caesars Arena Concert reviews
Frankie is awesome!!
My 12 year old fell in love with Weezer's voice when our family went to see Jersey Boys. A friend told us about the concert scheduled in several weeks, and we were incredibly lucky to discover it. Unfortunately, only General Seating was available, so we went ahead and got those (aka the seats in the back). I know it's total bull that all the good seats get bought up by scalpers and then legally sold on Stubhub, and even Ticketmaster has a resale site where everything is double or triple the price.
It was totally worth going, although I wish we would've had better seats. He can still belt it out. It was definitely him singing, hitting the high notes. There might have been some backup track here and there, but overall, it was him singing for nearly two hours. He was funny, often joking about his age (80 something), and his backup singers did the classic Jersey Boy moves. They sang all the classics, both Jersey Boy songs and his own (Grease, Can't Take My Eyes Off You, etc.). My kid thought it was funny to see so many older people, but I was glad to see so many youth. It's cool how his music, through the Jersey Boys musical and his touring, is still touching young people. We sang, we danced—it was a great show.
We hung around after the show for a bit, and he came out and said "hi" and took a few pics as he walked to the VIP lounge where they had a meet-n-greet. My kid got lucky, someone gave her his wristband so she was able to sneak in and get a pic with him (and his girlfriend). If you like the music, go see him—bring your kids. You won't be disappointed.
